Why Some Creators Avoid Music Subscriptions
Music subscriptions can be convenient, but they aren’t always the best fit for every content creator.
For many people running smaller channels or side projects, the biggest concern is simply cost stacking. Between software, equipment, hosting, and other tools, creators already pay for a lot. Almost too much. Adding another recurring music subscription can feel unnecessary if the goal is just finding high-quality background music for their videos or livestreams.
Another concern is long-term dependency. If you build dozens or hundreds of videos around music from a subscription-based library (from various “artists” which are probably production-houses using AI to make their music, anyway), what happens if you stop paying for the subscription, down the road? Different services have different policies about continued usage rights.
That’s why a lot of creators prefer music that’s released openly for content creation from the beginning. Copyright-safe artists (such as us!) make music libraries focusing on clarity and accessibility rather than locking tracks behind a paywall.
Ultimately, the best option depends on your workflow. But it’s worth remembering that subscriptions aren’t the only way to find safe background music. Give our music a try. You might love it. Thousands of content creators already do.
