We make instrumental music that’s 100% free to use: no subscriptions, no paywalls, no hidden catches. We’re just two real people, not a corporation, not a content farm, and not a massive AI factory flooding the internet with filler or AI slop. We care about music, creators, and keeping things clear. If you’ve ever been confused by copyright, Content ID, or “royalty-free” claims that don’t actually hold up, this page is for you.

About copyright & YouTube’s Content ID

Our catalog is released specifically to be safe for creators. We do not operate like sketchy MCNs (multi-channel networks), fake “audio libraries,” or predatory licensing schemes.

That said, the music ecosystem is complicated! Distributors, platforms, and automated systems don’t always behave perfectly.

One of three things should happen when you use StreamKitty in your YouTube video:

1. Copyright Claim notice, but no de-monetization. If you’re in the US or UK and in the YouTube Partner Program (YPP), you’ll see a copyright claim, but you might also see that your video has revenue-sharing enabled. That helps us keep SK going (and before you jump to conclusions, it’s fractions of pennies.). If it does not say revenue-sharing, read #2 on how to quickly resolve this.
2. Copyright Claim notice, and temporary demonetization. If you run into #2, it’s easy to fix. You have two options: 1, just email us your video link/URL and ask to release the claim (we will email you back right away), or 2, follow the instructions on the main page, at the very top (File a Dispute). It’s safe! WE tell the powers that be to release your claim, and/or allowlist/safelist your video featuring our music.
3. Copyright Claim notice. This basic notice happens when your channel is yet to be monetized (not in the YPP). It doesn’t matter AT ALL. You’re safe! Thank you for including our music in your video!

❓ What “Copyright-Safe” Actually Means (Plain English)

“Copyright-safe” doesn’t mean “copyright-free” or “no copyright.”
It means the music is intentionally released for creator use, with clarity about how it’s handled behind the scenes.

Our catalog may participate in platform-level revenue systems (such as YouTube’s music monetization infrastructure). This helps keep the project sustainable and prevents misuse or third-party scam claims.

What this means for creators:

• You can safely use the music in videos, streams, and projects

• There are no licenses to buy and no subscriptions

• You’re not signing a contract by using the music

• We do not operate like an MCN (multi-channel network) which are frequently seen as scams

• We do not demand exclusivity or control over your channel or content

In practice, most creators will never need to think about this at all.
And if something ever does come up, we’re reachable and human!
